Or you can dig the entire plant, put it in a large pot, take it indoors
for a few weeks, then put the entire plant back into the garden if it
warms. Just take a shovel and scoop out the entire clump, dirt and all,
and plop it into a large pot. Then add a bit more dirt around the edges
to make sure it's stable in the pot and put it in a cool room,
preferably with some light. If it's been really dry, I give the clumps
I'm going to dig a good drink of water first, and give them time to
absorb some of it. The stalks will continue to grow and even open
blooms for your indoor enjoyment.
