What is the problem keeping south Florida from growing tall bearded irises? Is it acid soil, too much rain? It can't be heat. Here in southern Arizona, we have had 118 days above 100 degrees this summer and most of my TBs are doing fine.

All the discussion regarding the characteristics of Blyth iris
cultivars seems to indicate they might be a good starting point in my
search for TBs that could succeed (or breed offspring to succeed) in
South Florida, USDA 10b. - Has anyone had any warm climate experience
with them? - Any potential cultivar recommendations would be much
appreciated.
