The combination of high heat and high humidity, amplified by the 
summer rainy season and frequent swampy conditions, are normally 
given the blame (Louisiana Iris do very well down here). My theory 
(for the moment at least) is that superior drainage and appropriate 
cultivar selection may be the answer.
