Patricia,
I hope you are taking into consideration in comparing Australian and U.S.
prices that not all dollars are created equal (or remain so thereafter). At
the close of business today the Australian dollar was quoted at US$.5286.
Therefore, the AU$12.50 you quote as the TT price for ABOUT TOWN is
actually somewhat less (US$6.60) than the BVIG price for the same cultivar.
Curiously enough, when the Aussies split the pound in two and called the
result dollars, the AU$ was valued at about US$1.20 as I recall. Some folks
have been hit even harder than we in the U.S. by inflation and monetary
depreciation over the past 25-30 years.
