The following is an excerpt from the June 2000 Cooley's
Newsletter, Notes From The President:
"we hope to see the red iris in flower by this fall or next
spring, and commercial sales (in our catalog) should begin
in 2003. We plan to preview the iris in our 2002 catalog, just
so you can get a peek.. We're very excited about this incredible
breakthrough, and we're sure you will be too."
It seems they have a patent application in, and are entering
some sort of licensing agreement with Oregon State University.
Anyone care to conjecture on the price of this intro? Will it be
fertile, or will it be a mule? Will it grow well, or struggle? So many
questions, so few answers.......
