Using venetian blinds as labels is really good, buttttttttttt--face the
writing side away from water source and sun
if the tags are to remain for the winter--and you have cold--ground
freezing--weather--be sure to push the blinds down to their tip in the
dirt--otherwise, every time the ground freezes and thaws, the blinds will
'heave-up' a bit--and might just be laying on the ground in the spring (when
the dog and cat both thought that the labels were great fun to play with, so
retrieved them from the iris patch and chewed them on the lawn--kitty just
likes to bat them around!!!!! voice of experience!!!!!)
but--for a short time--the blinds work great!!! I just use a #2 pencil to
write on them--and it stays!!!
