Hey Al,
I don't have any of the Avery labels at the house now so I would need to
check the store. They are all the same though except for size if you get
the Avery Clear for Laser Printers. I use an H-P LaserJet 4L and the ink is
permanent. You local print emporium must have used an inkjet and you should
get your money back from them. I have had the Avery labels in all parts of
the garden and have not experienced them peeling at all. The Brother
P-Touch labels do separate, especially the white on black more than the
black on white.

What type of Avery label are you using? I use a 5630 clear laser
label. I had the labels printed at the local print emporium as my
printer is an ink jet. It lasts as long as the first rainfall.
However the laser print will last up to 5 years. The problem is the
labels closer to the house are coming loose. This includes the
rebloomers, Sibs, and Ji's. The bearded iris in the far sides and
backs of the yard are still very stable.
