Laurie, The Judges HAndbook says that very thing, i.e. it must be in the same
garden (I know this, after all, I helped rewrite it!)
BUT I still feel it is a little unfair to the iris, itself..Maybe I'm
feeling more benign now! Ha! The perfect rebloom would bloom both seasons
in the same garfden, but I still feel there is a "but" there! There were
not enough people at the Spring meeting of the Board to make a final
decision --- we'll have to put it on the agenda and publicise the meeting
better - and hope there is not a conflicting popular meeting at the same time.
And, don't forget, that the rebloom report depends on the integrity of the
reporter -- there is no way that one can check on whether it was a summer
acquisition or not! What I have done for the record, when I know - as in
Patricia's report - that they bloomed this fall - with a note that they were
acquired in the summer from elsewhere. Therefore the report next fall will
validate it all, if they rebloom --- which is very likely because they bloom
and rebloom all over -- they are good rebloomers. SO, I guess we just need
patience and further observations. Rosalie nr Baltimore zone 7 where we
are having drizzily rain which is good for my dry garden, but not for the
last baseball game for Baltimore's hero, Cal Ripken Jr. ryfigge@aol.com
