We're using the Avery 5667 Clear Return Address Labels, 0.5 inch by 1.75
inches, 80 labels per sheet, 25 sheets, 2000 labels.
Our most common plant label stake is made of white Tyvek or a
plasticized paper product something like Tyvek. It is the same type of
material used in many brands of commercial greenhouse supplier's plant
label stakes. The overall length of the plant label stake is 6 inches.
The length of the area for the label is about 2.5 inches, and the width
of the label area is 7/8 inch. The width of the stake below the label
area is 5/8 inch, and its length is about 3.5 inches.
The black laser toner print displays very nicely against the white
background of the plant label stake.
The clear laser labels probably adhere better on our stakes, because
they are porous enough or have enough tooth for the adhesive to work in
all weather conditions. Perhaps the metal stakes expand and contract too
much with changes in temperature for the label adhesives to hang onto
the white paint?
