Dear Diana,
Where do you live? What growing zone?
The thing on the end of the leaves is a seed pod & should be discarded
or else taken off before the seeds dispurse & the seeds planted in a buried
pot. The leaves do not need cutting until they turn brown. Fertilize with
Superphosptate,1 tablespoon per clump, dug into the soil not touching the
rhizomes (not bulbs) which should be close if not showing on the top of the
soil. I fertilize both Fall & Spring. Plant rhizomes in full sun as possible
but at least 6 hours of sunshine is needed for bloom.
Hope this helps,
Annette Milch Lexington, Kentucky, USA, zone 5/6 Looking for rebloom!!!
