Are you familiar with or do you have access to "The Iris of China" by James
Waddick and Zhao Yu-tang? This book contains complete botanical
descriptions of all the species you have mentioned and there are also photo
plates of I. rossii and I. uniflora. As for habitat, rossii is noted as
growing only in the Funghuang Shan area on sunny hillsides and meadows at
forest edges, and kobayashi is said to grow on dry hillsides in southern
Liaoning, the type speciman having been collected at Nanguanling near
Dalien.
