Re: New member

Regina,

I don't know whom you know who gives you dozens of bearded irises.
(Though I'd love an introduction!)

Actually, you can now use not knowing their names as an excuse to go
out and buy them yourself. One of the greatest joys of iris
addiction is going over all those catalogs and mapping out your beds
and dreams. And of course, if you get into hybridizing, you'll need
to use not only named but the most modern cultivars you can afford.

Luckily, you have some great hybridizers in your own country,
including Tempo Two, Barry Blyth's nursery (my personal favorite
hybridizer). You probably face the same taxes/fees we do when buying
abroad, so may be saved from the myriad temptations we face in the
U.S. However, the color catalogs are worth paying for just to see
what you want. I'm sure you're aware of the AIS website and its
links to commercial growers. And many commercial growers have
websites that themselves are rich with seduction.

Enoy your new obsession; I know I do!
