Linda,
Walter mentioned 3 of my seedlings bloomed in the 2002 Master Planting in
Memphis. All three are TB.
A brief note/disclaimer. The last several years I've not been able to give
my seedlings the attention they deserved. When I moved, 1998, I brought some
of my favorite seedlings, but in most cases I just brought the strongest from
each cross. Many I'd not seen bloom.
9425-1RE- ((Her Royal Highness x Inferno) X Feedback). My
intentions--working toward a good reblooming red. (all irises used have
rebloomed somewhere) Standards a reddish purple. Falls (Feedback) purple
with reddish purple shoulder and fall rim. Of the three, this is possibly
the weakest, but is in a bad spot. All of my soil was hauled in and isn't
very good.
9502- I kept three from this cross. All bloomed in the fall of 2000.
9502-1RE is my least favorite, but the strongest rebloomer. It and 9502-2RE
(a real beauty & shaded to the blue side) are various shades of banded
bi-tone purple and both are quite tall. Good fall stalks . . . not bunched
or clumpy. 9502-3RE is a bit on the shy side. Shorter, slow to bloom and
slow to increase. It's a silvered purple self with purple beards and also
beautiful. Maybe a new spot? (includes Feedback(2) Autumn Encore, Roman
Lover, Orbiter, & Violet Classic)
9524-1RE was the only seedling kept from Earl of Essex X Hot Streak.
Standards grayed orange veined beetroot. Falls white, rimmed beetroot, &
washed gold below the beard and across the fall. The gold almost looks like
pollen (bright yellow daylily type) rubbed across the falls. Or the gold on
a bumblebee. Hard to describe, but it almost glows. Very tenacious. Likes
to bloom. Relatively short.
I have several seedlings blooming now, but most are not at the convention.
My red one has another stalk, 9502-2RE is in bloom, white one has clump. My
ugly one from yellow and purple is a greyed red (to the black side . . .
sorta) with good branching . . . two stalks but not my cuppa. Two are
blooming from the Jessie's Song X Earl of Essex cross.
9412-1 has a stalk. ((Laced Cotton x Autumn Encore) X Renown)
9142-8 (Laced Cotton X Feedback) is putting up a stalk but it will be too
late. Also others still in the fans. Many others.
Betty in BG KY . . . did I miss anything?
