AR: I. Hoogiana 'Late Amethyst'

Looking at the photo, I see nothing that's inconsistent with the I. hoogiana 
ID.

Other sources [Innes, for example] describe the beard as yellow.  I've grown 
a number of both collected clones and named variants down through the years 
and, eliminating the obvious imposters, would say that the beard color 
actually does range from soft yellow to bright orange.  

The beard on the standards doesn't show in the photo, of course, because it 
is on the inside.   Unmistakable, if you look for it, but I'd interpret 
"strongly bearded" as a comparison to other species with bearded standards 
because these are usually not as dense as the beard on the falls.
