REB: Garden Report

Stingray won't quit; 5 or 6 more stalks on the way to replace the current 2
or 3; too bad the form isn't as impressive as the performance. Amazingly,
Crystal Dreams bloomed last week, not known as a rebloomer or even a
dependable bloomer for me but OH HOW LOVELY. Eggnog (of course) has a
couple of stalks, Plum Wine one, and three tall and heavily branched stalks
from the same rhizome of Progressive Attitude (new for me).

I'm still struggling to finish the grading and sprinkler corrections in all
my new flowerbeds so I can get the last two years' purchases and transplants
out of pots! I can't believe how long it's taking. Finally got one bed
(about 200 square feet) finished; just need to change out the
sprinklerheads, add loose flagstones for mud-free walking, and start
planting. I made some exciting crosses this year, and I haven't even had
time to soak the seeds yet. I am especially eager to see how Laugh Lines
works as a parent. It has been in a two-gallon pot for a year and the pot
has been crushed to about 4 inches tall by the strength of the roots pulling
it into the ground. Time to transplant that one first!
