I usually notify the next of kin before posting rhizome deaths, but
these are only rotting in the parent rhizome so far, so may recover and
thrive, once they get those PR proteins manufactured <g>. They were
doing fine until I set them out in the garden and they got soaked by 10
inches of rain, followed by temps back up near 90!
Mike, remember what I said about RECURRING GLORY and how we ought to
just give up if that one rotted here? Well.....the side shoots still
look good, but the main rhizome has totally mushed. The little pieces
of SAXON descendants look good so far.
HEMSTITCHED is worse - the side shoots are going on it also. Ditto for
the Hager rebloomer with balkana ancestry ....RECURRING RUFFLES (I think
that's right)
And, another pink with some rotting genes Bill, VALENTINES DAY. Darn it
all. The main rhizome has turned to mush, but there are side shoots, so
it may recover.
Only a few others showing any inclination to rot (losing a few outside
leaves).
To keep harmony in the universe, I will post the names of a few that are
growing with tremendous gusto that balance out the rots.
