Laurie,
When iris fans of varieties with pbf are trimmed for shipping they present
a somewhat misleading impression of the visual impact if the clump growing
in the garden, because you see all of the purple, but most of the green is
missing. ELSA SASS has the most extensive pbf of any cultivar I grow, but
the whole leaves are still mostly green.
I received a new introduction from Keith Keppel this year, SECRET SERVICE,
that has nearly as much pbf on the leaves as ES.
