Hmmm. That is not a promising start. Well let us see what happenss here.
those rhizomes were from Colorado and very healthy. just perfect i fact.
Again the miracle of the world, earth, higher plan etc. is the the one i
fogot to pick up and it fell out of the wheelbarrel on the way to the
compost will root and grow while my pampered ones layed out for color
coordination rot and ruin my garden color plan.
I have a couple of those and maybe I shoud pay attention to that particular
iris for it of itself must be particularly hardy.

Being a nurse I try to put this in human terms... we are all people some
blonde some red or brown haired. We all bloom different due to our crosses so
why does one person grow strong and another sicken or become more susceptible
to colds. The immune system must work better for some than others, or they
handle stressors better, or through exposure to more stressors have enhanced
their immune system.
Infact now researchers are trying to fight viruses with immune system
boosters such as interferon and antivirals.

I am starting to ramble here, but maybe the answer is more simple than we
think. If i don't want grass to grow on my garden paths I spray post, or some
antivegitation chemical. why don't I just throw lots of salt on
the path? It is really that simple. why do we think we have to turn to
chemical all the time?
