Well, yes. We also have to remember that one of the charters of the AIS
is to act as the international registry for non-bulbous irises. We do
this as a service. The costs to us are the publishihng costs.
It would be nice if non-AIS members would donate something for the right
to access the online checklists, but I think that will be covered by the
subscription cost for access to the most recent Checklist (and R&Is when
we get there). Most people want the new stuff mostly. Fewer want the
older checklists.
