Well I finally got two new flowerbeds finished for this year's purchases, and all but 5 are planted (I sorta' ran out of steam yesterday). Actually, the second bed was a rework bed; I had to squeeze 20 new iris in and around 7 Blyth iris from last year's purchases. Also had to move an enormous 1-year clump of TOUCH OF MAHOGANY. An excellent iris, but NOTHING is allowed to crowd LOUISA'S SONG! That bed also contains a climbing bamboo, a mexican weeping bamboo, a melianthus major, and a cycad. I have about a dozen more plants I traded for that still need homes, plus about 15 trays of tiny seedlings to line out. They didn't get planted till late this spring, then they were severely abused ("Darwinized"), so they aren't as far along as usual. The ones out of DOUBLE DRIBBLE look healthier than the rest. Also, one cross involving a space-age luminata seedling of mine seems to have produced strong babies. I can't wait to plant this year's crosses (currently in the refrigerator). I only regret wasting all of the LOUISA'S SONG pollen attempting the same futile cross to on a very reluctant parent. I really wanted that one, though. I will try it again next year, both directions if I get pollen this time. Lots of seeds involving LOUISA'S SONG, PAINTED FROM MEMORY, DOUBLE DRIBBLE, and a deep-purple-on-white plicata seedling of mine, among others.
