Steve, I just wonder how many seedlings you are going to be able to grow.  
Some of those you mentioned are diploids and some are tetraploids.  You may 
have to grow thousands of seedling to come up with any fertile hybrids.  Most 
of them will be sterile triploids.  Of course, this is how many ancestors of 
the modern irises came into being, but it is a long shot.
