Hi Laurie,
I finished the fall cleanup in the iris beds yesterday and after stripping off dead leaves, discovered these to add to the purple ringed rhizomes (PRR) list:
Candy Rock IB (Sutton '00)
Beauty Mark SDB (Schreiner '79)
Hokeypokey IB (Innerst '85)
And these historics all have PBF:
Golden Gleam TB (Miess '52)
Color Carnival TB (DeForest '49)
President Pilkington TB (Cayeux '31)
Silver Peak TB (DeForest '61)
These traits are very useful in identifying out-of-bloom iris cultivars. I try to plant those with purple foliage or rhizomes next to any cultivar that is particularly weed-like and inclined to overflow its allotted space in my iris beds. It sure makes them easier to sort out if they spill over and I don't get them divided and confined in a timely manner.

It has been suggested to me that it might be useful to add a PRR list to
my website iris pages along with my current PBF list as one more element
of cultivar identification. So ... if any of you know of any irises you
are growing that exhibit PRR, please let me know
