This thread is one of the best in a long time in this mail list (not
that several others have not been good).

People from all over talking about what's really important to them in
iris, and how to achieve it. Never unanimity, but always mutual respect.
Just the way things should be.

I am most grateful to Tom Tadfor Little for starting the predecessor of
this list, and to John Jones for taking it over and making it his own.
The iris world is already better because of their efforts, and the
benefits will continue to grow.

But to get back on topic, why don't all hybridizers forget about
resistance to borers and rot (neither a problem here), and work on the
really important issues, like dwarfs and Siberians that don't need a
winter?     ;-)
