Not sure where KL grows well, though.
Attended my very first Iris Show in Hobbs, NM in 1978; as I entered the door, KILT LILT was the one that took my breath away. I bought several rhizomes of it along with about 40 others. . .KL was the ONLY one that didn't survive. (It survived for someone down there!) I again bought several more rhizomes, talked to the grower, visited his garden. . .tried again. . .and again, it didn't grow. Soooo, I talked with the grower again and he told me it didn't do well for him, was a slow grower and bloomed erratically. I later moved to NW Arkansas and tried for the third time to grow this picky damn Iris. . and once again, it faded and died. Now, years later, in El Paso, I'm trying ONCE MORE! So far, so good. It was planted the first week in September along with 30 others and as of this date, it's holding it's own! Ya all send positive thoughts to my efforts to JUST ONCE see KL bloom in MY garden!
