The Jackson & Perkins zip code zone map put me in Zone 4a and
the USDA hardiness map (color red) puts me in USDA Zone 3b.
In reality, we fluctuate between Zones 3a and 3b...we always go
below -35 F (-37 C) in the winter. The coldest I have seen it in
the 17 or so years I have lived here is -42 F. The warmest in
the mid-90s. (very rare) There has never been recorded temps of
100 F here.
Anywhere you crack it, it is darn cold.
Ellen in the White Mountains of New Hampshire (there is a reason
they are named 'White' mountains....think skiing :-)
