Thanks Chuck. That's certainly an easy test to make. I may practice
with some leafy greens or carrots - don't they both contain
beta-carotene?
So far, nothing that I've extracted here had any alcohol soluble yellow
or orange pigment that I could see except for some yellow looking
pigment, from orange beards on TEA LEAVES. You mentioned that there is
some in HARVEST OF MEMORIES, but I forgot to look for it.
What color is lycopene in oil solvent? Is it red or orange or pink?
<A pigment extraction can clearly distinguish red tttt from hot orange.
The hot orange is beta-carotene and will extract with warm alchohol or
if ground up , in cold alchohol. The lycopene (tttt pigment) will only
disolve in oil solvent. Chuck Chapman >
