Thoroughly enjoyed the latest issue of Talk Talk. Lots of stuff about
hybridizing and the iris obsession. Kudos to all involved.
I <especially> enjoyed the note tucked in Phil Williams' article about
Dean & Judy Douglas - Elmwood, NE garden. He says "Tim Stanek and I
were chatting in this garden and he steered me toward 3 clumps of I.
pallida that were in full bloom, with upright stalks and spotless
foliage. It was, he said, "this" type of performance in the garden that
created his initial interest in tall bearded iris."
Me too, Phil and Tim. And that's my hybridizing goal, to get that kind
of performance in the garden in my seedlings.
Much easier said than done!
