TB: Jennifer Rebecca
Hello,
Having helped my folks move their iris bed from one area of their yard to
another back in August, I planted about a dozen new rhizomes there as well. My
folks, about nine hours from me, tell me that Jennifer Rebecca, the only
rebloomer we planted, is about to bloom in the next week with three buds! Is this
typical (to bloom two months after being planted)?! I am taking it as a sign that
the flowers really love where they're planted!
I do realize that August in Alabama is not a good time to plant/transplant;
however, it had to be done then or a construction company was going to bulldoze
through the iris bed. They've had a LOT of rain due to tropical systems, and
the temps are a little milder than usual.
Anyway, the first iris blooms on plants I set out myself, so I thought that
was great!
