Linda, I was speaking about performance as it relates to stalk productions
and bloom season. Neither bloomed this spring, but they were first year
plants. Both clumps made it through the winter and both "look" healthy. Matrix
did throw that late stalk last fall. It was serious damaged by the cold. I
think this was one of the things that started the question of identity last
year.

Today I have a fresh stalk of each. Not far apart in a row. Height looks
about the same, MATRIX is standing straight but with poor branching. Lots of
buds though. It has fewer maturing rhizomes than RENOWN. (maybe the late
stalk?) While RENOWN has larger stalks.

Substance is important and RENOWN wins there, without question. Guess I'm
just having a problem adjusting to the 'real' RENOWN! <vbg>
