Neil,
I have acquired a wide variety of iris rhizomes from Superstition Iris Gardens over a number of years, including quite a few historics, and have never had a reason to question the correct identification of any of them.
I ordered FRANK ADAMS from Superstition in 2004, so this past spring was its first bloom here. I noticed during the bloom season that it was impossible to distinguish between the blooms of FRANK ADAMS and the iris I have been growing as ACCENT since I acquired it through the HIPS Rhizome Sale in 2000. Does anyone know if these two cultivars are truly that similar in appearance? I definitely have received mislabeled/misidentified rhizomes from the HIPS Sale in the past.
