Franks Adams is a variegata with golden-tan standards and red falls and yellow-orange beards
I'm sure it does resemble a few historics out there. I have seen an unknown large clump growing in someone's yard once and wondered if it was Frank Adams, but it was just different enough in color, but only slightly, for me to determine it wasn't. It standards had just a hint more red/pink and a hint less yellow.
As far as Accent, I have not seen it to compare, but the presence of Frank Adams is not one of outstanding contrast. Frank Adams standards are not yellow enough and definately does not have merlot falls.

I noticed during the bloom season that it was impossible to distinguish

these two cultivars are truly that similar in appearance?
Hmmm. I don't grow FRANK ADAMS, but believe that it is a "red" self. I do
grow ACCENT, and it has bright yellow standards and merlot red falls. Outstanding
contrast. I think this is correct, so I would say that you have a
misidentified "ACCENT."
