FYI. This has not been my personal experience. Any reports have been
limited. I've never received a general report on how my convention irises grow.
Someone on the Memphis committee (2002) reported rebloom to me and I was
very grateful.
Rita Gormley reported a rebloom stalk in her St. Louis (2005) guest garden.
Then in a follow up conversation on this list about disposal, Rita mentioned
the vigorous increase/growth of Theme Master. Of course, I saw most of them
growing in the various gardens in St. Louis.
The summer before the convention, the convention garden chairperson usually
reports any rhizomes lost so the hybridizer may replace them.
Nothing is said about how anything grows or what may have contributed to the
demise of said rhizome/rhizomes. And the general horticultural practices of
the various gardens is not communicated.
This is just my experience.
