Re: Re: Guest Iris

Hi John,

I know that your reference to a hybridizer who lost all their stock of a
seedling except for the plant in the 2004 Region Six tour garden was one of
ours. Because it did so well in the tour garden and we got all the stock back,
we were able to introduce it this year. Its name is JOYFULNESS.

We send our irises to AIS and Regional conventions to get exposure. Since
we are very small, especially in regard to tall bearded irises, that is one of
the few ways to get judges to see them. We usually donate some or all of
named varieties to the host region/garden owners, unless we are very short of a
variety. Irises under seedling number are usually asked to be returned.

The only notice we receive about performance of our guests is the one
telling us what has died and asking if we wish to replace them.

Dorothy Willott
