You are right.  Don't store the photos in the data base.  A 1 MB  photo will 
be stored as 30+ MB!   I store the name and path of the  photo in the database 
and have created software to find and  display the photo in the form.  You 
are very correct in that adding photos  will slow down the database!  I use 
Access 2003.  I don't think you  can store photos in the 2003 version.  I know you 
can in earlier  versions.  If found this out the hard way.  My early database 
suddenly  became very big very quickly.
