"Loic, if you are serious about wanting seeds, I will be happy to attempt
a cross for you next spring, if they cooperate!"
Thanks a lot Linda, but it won't be necessary!
It was just to beat time, if it had been possible on your side of the
ocean...
I might still cross them next year, but like you said, i'd rather use at
least one ever-bloomer in the cross.
There aren't many.
With a spot, there is Hot and It's father Frankincence, and also it's greand
father Ditto, but they all bloom very late, and most of the time are hit by
the frost.
Don't know about Hot's grand mother Small Flash though, maybe it's early?
But Small Flash children like Flower Child and Frankincence bloom late.
Among Small Flash children, there is also Nava, from Bianco, and Charabia,
from Ransom, that bloom earlier.
I've used Charabia a lot last year so i'll see pretty soon what it gives.
The only one with a spot that blooms early, from the beginning of August
till the end of september is
DERIVE
(Pierre Anfosso, R. 1991), Sdlg. P 84 A. SDB, 10" (25 cm), E
"S. warm white washed mauve in heart; F. tan brown, edged warm white; beards
mauve blue.
(Petite Fugue x Pulcinella) X Capricornia.
Iris en Provence 1991 "
It is pod AND pol fertile, and daubing seems to take, both ways, almost each
time!
I've crossed i last year with Pele and Tweety Bird, maybe second generation
crosses will give a rebloomer.
This year, i've finally crossed it with rebloomers.
I will send in another mail the pictures of an IB i got from a cross i made
2 years ago with Derive X Invitation, nor very pretty, but an excellent
grower, and, most of it, reblooms mid september, and is still in bloom.
If you want, i can send you a piece of Derive, next year, so you can try it
in your hot country !
Loic
