RE: CULT: Preen

Him,
Here in the upper Midwest I put Preen on my gardens as soon as the snow is
off and while the ground is still wet from the snow.  Although the Preen
says it is good for 6 months I do the Preen again early to mid June and
again in September under the same conditions, right after a rain.

It does not kill all or stop the growth of all weed but it sure helps.  I am
going to try Colleen Modra's suggestion and use the other product too.

Generally speaking, what dates do you target for getting the Preen  applied?

A regional gardener put Preen on the beds in the fall and had  clean beds in

the spring.  Is this common practice?  
 
Many weeds winter kill here, and some of the ones that don't won't be  
bothered by the Preen.
