I have another seven crosses containing Renown going into the pots later this
week.  When I did a search, only two have any chance of having tangerine
beards but those are not really strong potential.  I'll cross them back to the
Lunar Whitewash x Romantic Evening children in hopes of recovering the beards.

None of the seedlings from 2307 have bloomed yet.  (Treasured x Renown) X
(Lunar Whitewash x Romantic Evening)  Yellow by blue tend to produce white
seedlings so I may not like what I get.  (Unless, of course, they have red
beards! )  White is one of the default colors.  Sigh!

Not sure but one of the Shire x Dignity Dancer seedlings (reddish one) may
have orange in the throat.  Not sure, but nothing about them in the notes.
Picture inconclusive.

Tangerine beards are rare in irises that bloom off season here.  It's
recessive and I thing it's going to be a battle.  I've some seedlings with Mam
Zella in the pod parent which could produce such beards in future generations.
I'm using Platinum due, in part, to the tangerine beards in it's background.
It has a stalk now.  I'm a couple of generation into outcrosses to tangerine
beards trying to introduce them into rebloomers for my area.  Hard to get
everything and the rebloom too.  Recessives.  I've a few experiments--can't
wait for bloom season.

Good rain.  Lots of wind but no serious damage here, so far.

Another seedling from HARVEST OF MEMORIES X RENOWN opened a bloom today
 horrible form - will post a photo once it's fully open.

I have gotten t beards from HOM X pinks now and then, so I know HoM
arries tangerine factor. RENOWN has given some yellows from RENOWN X
inks, only two or three yellow seedlings so far, & none with any
angerine showing on the beard.  At least none I've noticed.
So this was a surprise to me.
Have any of you gotten or heard of getting tangerine beards from RENOWN?
It's not much - just the third of the beard in the throat, but it is
efinitely tangerine.
Anybody know if the orange beard on SHIRE is tangerine or if it just
looks" orange? If it really is "pink", then it sounds like RENOWN and
ts parent MATRIX both carry tangerine factor.  Did everybody but me
now that already? ;-)
