GOOD NEWS! The WNY Iris Society banquet is not far off and we still have
room, so I've been given permission to open it up to any and all who may be
interested.
Why would someone shuffle off to Buffalo for a judges training and banquet???
Well how about if we told you that the trainer and banquet entertainment is
none other than
DAVID SCHREINER!!!!
That's right! Mr. Iris hisownself is coming allllll the way to Buffalo and we
just can't wait. I spoke to him yesterday and he tells me that the judges
training will be on (surprise....>) Tall Bearded irises! He promises plenty
of slides to supplement his program, and I know it's going to be amazing.
He added that his banquet program will be on the Schreiners' business.....
growing irises on a massive scale (while still raking in those Dykes awards!)
The date is Saturday, October 24th. The judges training will be at 2:30
followed by hospitality and dinner.
Cost: Banquet - $19 (london broil or chicken stuffed with proscuitto, cheese,
herbs or broiled roughy.
Hotel is the McKinley Park Inn (actually in Hamburg, NY) and rooms are
$62/night. If you reserve (and pay) through the WNYIS, there is no tax.
We will have plenty of door prizes and we're planning a silent auction too.
So, if anyone's interested - let me know instantly, and I'll send more info.
Keep in mind too that we are very close to Niagara Falls and other Canadian
attractions... and October is leaf season in New York.
