Favourite topic of conversation here is how to wash or what deodorant to
wear. I fortunately have electric hot water. Lots of people laid off
jobs, and sadly, lots of burn victims, as families try to cope with
keeping their children, etc, washed. Bread is a luxury item.
Dennis, I'm pleased to hear ELECTRIQUE survived the rot. Of the Blyth
irises which have bloomed so far, it is my favourite. The others (YES,
AZTEC BURST, WITCHING, CHOCOLATE VANILLA) take time to grow on you.
AURALIGHT should open soon, and is really lovely. Most of the mid and
late season TB's are pushing up buds now. The SDB's have almost finished
blooming here, and the Dutch are finally making a showing, and, oddly,
there are still daffodil buds coming up.
For those that like orange tones, Barry Blyth's LONGING is a very nice
IB in a soft tannish orange, currently putting on a display here.
Cheers, Jan Clark
