Hi Walter, >> I do add a lot of peat moss and finely chipped pine bark and needles and lots of acid fertilizer, too. JI's do extremely well in this soil as well. I cannot decide whether to put Christy Hensler's things here are not. They are JI X SIB.<< If you plant any of the JS kids in that good soil, they'll think they're being pampered! You'll need a backhoe to divide #1 or #8 if you turn them loose in that. Thought you might like to know.... #15 (that little non-descript Sib type) has set a nice handful of seed with ROSE QUEEN. (Double checked my method of making crosses BTW, and there's not much chance that it's a self or air pollinated. None of the blooms that were stripped and left alone set pods.) Ought to be interesting. Second batch of seedlings made it to Sam without getting cooked in the mail this time, so now we wait and see what happens. He mentioned a possiblility of pure Sib genes being produced in a JI pod... said it was rare though. Kinda doubt this is what we've got since it would've had to happen over 21 times so far in this one population of seedlings. Will keep you posted. Later, Christy In the process of a redo on the 'ol hpage. Managed a few better images of the kids before the camera died. They're last on the iris menu. Should give you a better idea of what they look like. URL is http://www.povn.com/rock/iris.html
