I posted this earlier in the season. All around, the rhizome
quality, bonuses, etc., etc. Superstition was far and away the leader of
the bunch. I was disappointed in the quality of early shipping season
plants from the Northwest. I just wish Supersitition knew what I wanted
from Cooley's, Schreiners, Keppel and would get them a year in advance,
fatten them up, and make worries a little less when I stick the rhizomes
into the ground. The big fat neck (which I referred to as iris 'goiter')
is a harbinger of rot in this area, and a lot of rhizomes from Oregon have
this characteristic but CA grown irises don't.
