Heather--I so enjoy reading your newsabout your flowers--have never tried growing LA's but have decided to try some--let us knowwhen the pictures are in BHG or if they are in a BHG book--
Didn't know you would be with us in 2000--yes, bring many pictures and let us know ahead of time when and where you will be showing them--
If anyone from cold country has had luck growing LA's, please let me know so that next year I am ready for them.
The descriptions of receiving orders at this time of year is mind boggeling--OH--for living in a warmer area and doing something other than putting the garden away this time of year!!!
Have not tried ordering from Suttons, but have from several of the others listed--here, from Cooley's and Schreiners, the rhizomes have to be left outside for several days to dry out, prior to planting--those places must keep watering until digging time--I have been there and seen them watering in July and August and September--so the rhizomes
are full of water and more likely to rot--even in our dry area--
Let us know the bloom rate of the new rhizomes next year, and also keep records so that you can tell us which ones are still alive in three years. thanks Carryl--western Montana zone 3/4
