     This is what I was afraid of.  Unlike Donna, I did not prune the tree,
as it is still only about 30 inches tall.  The plant does have a new shoot
(new leaves, no bloom) coming from the ground.  This shoot, which is almost
as tall as the main tree, may well take over and become the main tree.  The
plant is seed grown, not grafted.  
     One lady on the Florida Garden List has said that droughts sometimes
trick trees into blooming at odd times, but that sometimes they will
survive.
