Very amazing rescue story! Just goes to show you, they really can be tough
plants!
I had some iris that the former owner of this house planted in part shade too
close to shrubs of Indian Hawthorne. I'm moving them to get more blooms,
although they probably are a very generic and probably un-named purple I saw
one bloom of last year. Hey, an iris is an iris. One of last years bloomers
(on first year newly planted rhizome!) - Firebreather - has also sprouted a
tiny fan from the mom rhizome that already bloomed last year. It's in better
soil this year so I'm assuming that's why.
I have a sister in Knoxville...she said her white iris (doesn't know name) is
blooming for third time this year!
