Re: REB

I never thought I'd see it happen here in NW Iowa. I went out to the
garden yesterday afternoon and there, lo and behold, I spotted a bloom
stalk on CLARENCE (Zurbrigg 91), (color showing on the lst bud already)
which I just planted last summer. I have never had this happen before,
rebloom on a newly planted rhizome. All too often they don't even send
up bloom stalks the following season, let alone in the season of
planting. The rhizome came from Superstition Gardens, one of the
top-notch group I got from them this year. Another feather in the cap
of Dr. Lloyd Z., the hybridizer, and Rick Tasco/Roger Duncan, who raised
the stock. What makes this an even nicer surprise is that of all the
iris in the garden which have rebloomed here on occasion, only QUEEN
DOROTHY has done so this year. I can't get over the appearance of this
stalk on a 3-month old planting. Don't you think I'll be ordering more
from these growers????!!!!
