I am growing I. confusa in part shade, in a light - well drained soil -
which is rarely dries out. If it gets to much sun the plant will survive
just fine but the leaves will burn on the edges and look unsightly. Flowers
will come from the longest - stemmed leaf fans, if you have a mature plant
the leaf fans will be held well above the ground on these old stems. There
are two forms - one with white flowers and one with lavender. As for Florida
I think it would survive in shade, I don't believe it has any chill
requirement. I wattii is very similar, only growing somewhat taller.
