Yes.

This is another reason our Capitol beds crew starts our TBs out atop
mounds. By spring, they will all have settled to "ground level." In my home
bed with its apparently light soil, I really should be lifting TBs every
two years to keep them above ground. I think of them as my amazing
burrowing irises.

On the other hand, some of the LAs insist upon climbing up out of the dirt.
