It is Amber, isn't it -- or is it Barney Lou?  I'm confused (but I 
am also blonde, so that perhaps explains it!)

Well, it's just me really.  Kevin thinks I am crazy to be getting so
doggoned much information about a  hobby I am still in the very
early stages of - though I have been growing the pretty things
for nearly a decade.  Started with an unnamed tall bearded that
I have never been able to identify.  It was planted in a really odd
place on the property -- - so we transplanted it, and lo and behold,
lots or gloriuos blooms where before there had been none.  The 
rhizomes had been planted up against a rock face covered with
moss and right by the sea.

Thank you for sending me a welcome message.  I am hoping to be
able to glean lots of iris info from the site.

We are expecting temperature in the 50s, but 30!!!  It seldom freezes
here before December and our frost season is very short -- contrary
to public opinion about Canadian weather.  Crocus up in January,
daffodils in February or earlier, for instance.
