Walter,
By fully double do you mean 6 Fs and 6 Ss or a "cartwheel" (6 Fs, no Ss) form? It sounds like this is a double that ocassionally doesn't quite get there. If this bloom pattern is consistant, I'd say it's "normal" for this iris. BTW what color is it?

That's about all CC will do for me. I did get up to 4 fans this year. (Of course Marie C. had a bed full when she gave me my start!) I've even refused to give it away (Sorry, Rusty!), 'cause it's such a poor grower.
