Thanks for the input. I have been trying to evaluate what is growing
around
here which might adjust to the conditions. I have a habit of occasionally
digging a plant out of the pasture or road ditch and moving it into the
flower
beds. So far I haven't moved anything uncontrollable and some I'm very
pleased with indeed. Yes, the foliage is either completely gone or reduced
to no more than little over an inch of green. There's some native solidago

I've been wanting to try, but it never grows in full sun as a native.
Think it
might work? Also, there are some achillea which I need to move I'll
probably
try there.

Definitely. My single biggest disappointment this year was not being able
to obtain CINNAMON STICK from Mr. Niswonger. I ordered as soon as I
received the catalog - and even expressed the wish that if he must sub to
please not let it be that one. Oh well. Murphy's Law again. He was very
generous with his subs, tho. and expressed regret about the need to sub
that particular variety. Maybe next year. Out of all the irises I ordered
this
year (a lot) it was #1 on the list and I only had 2 subs in all the orders.
 Any
particular recommendations on spuria cultivars? I really enjoyed the one I
have.

Texas Zone 7 - and everytime I try to order your book over the internet
thru
Taunton, it comes back with a listing for TWO books. Can't figure out what
I'm doing wrong. Hope to have it this winter for the too short days.
